APPLICATION ENGINEERING

Integration decisions made before production starts.

Define the load, protection, host communication and physical interfaces that determine whether a battery will work reliably in the real system.

ENGINEERING INPUTS

A voltage and Ah value are not a complete specification.

Engineering begins with how the equipment operates: continuous and peak load, working hours, charger behavior, firmware, installation space and environment. These inputs are translated into an electrical, communication and mechanical direction for review.

01 DUTY PROFILE

Load & runtime

Continuous power, peak events, operating hours and reserve expectations.

02 POWER INTERFACE

Charge & discharge

Charger or inverter settings, current limits, cut-off behavior and connectors.

03 HOST SYSTEM

Model & firmware

Exact UPS, inverter or equipment model plus firmware and interface documents.

04 COMMUNICATION

Protocol matching

CAN, RS485, UART or Modbus messages and cable pin definition.

05 INSTALLATION

Space & environment

Dimensions, mounting, temperature, ingress protection and service access.

06 PROJECT SCOPE

Sample to volume

Prototype objectives, forecast quantity, destination and documentation needs.

DESIGN REVIEW

Four systems must work together.

A buildable battery specification connects energy, protection, communication and packaging rather than treating them as separate add-ons.

01

Electrical architecture

Cell platform, series/parallel arrangement, capacity and current path.

02

BMS strategy

Protection thresholds, balancing, sensing, contactor logic and monitoring.

03

Communication interface

Host protocol, firmware behavior, cable mapping and fault-state handling.

04

Mechanical integration

Enclosure, mounting, cooling direction, connectors and maintainability.

05

Prototype validation

Functional checks, charge/discharge testing and application compatibility review.

06

Release package

Approved BOM, drawings, labels, settings and quality checkpoints.

COMPATIBILITY CHECK

Voltage matching alone does not prove compatibility.

The battery and host device must agree on operating limits, communication and fault behavior. Provide the exact equipment model and firmware so the interface can be reviewed.
